Summer in the City

A one-of-a-kind Summer Adventure in New Orleans

Faced with the prospect of no camp in Mississippi this year, we built a wacky summer adventure here at home to safely connect campers, have fun, live into our values, and make lemonade out of lemons.

Camp Foundations

Cabin Culture

Just like camp, campers’ “cabins” are designed to bring young people together from all across New Orleans.

Coaches

As always, we have the overwhelming talent of our team to guide campers through multiple fun, engaging, and sometimes challenging experiences across each week.

The Power of Joy

Campers and staff are ready to fully embrace this zaniness of Summer in the City. Each week has a winding story that guides the adventures.

Tools & Materials

Each week will begin with a special delivery of tools and materials connected to the week’s theme and each camper’s choice of Badges.

Learning New Skills

Campers get to work towards earning Badges in a range of activities and skills, so they will fill their days from a menu of activities in which they can learn new things.

Stories

The stories we will tell and create together will provide all campers and coaches with a joyful and mysterious shared experience.

About Summer in the City

Summer in the City Dates & Times

  • Week 1: June 29 – July 3 (A) *
  • Week 2: July 6 – July 10 (B)
  • Week 3: July 13 – July 17 (A)
  • Week 4: July 20 – July 24 (B)
  • Week 5: July 27 – July 31 (Mystery)

* For the ideal experience, we recommend that most campers choose two weeks of camp – one “A” week and one “B” week. For new campers aged 11 and under, we recommend choosing Week 5, which will be designed specifically with this cohort in mind. (Returning campers of any age are also invited to attend Week 5.) If our recommendations do not align with your family’s schedule, you are welcome to enroll in any combination of weeks as you see fit.
